Meet Your Mesa Leadership Board Member - Andrea Rodovsky Bruggeman, Alumni/Community Events

  1. Tell us about yourself and what you do for work?
I am a real estate broker.  I am been a Realtor for 28 + years, all in the East Valley of the Sun.  I have one 18 year old son who is such a bright light  in my life.  My husband travel extensively, play golf and love to paddleboard.  We have a big lug of a dog named Wally, such a source of entertainment in our home

  2. What is your position on the board, and what do you do in your board position for Mesa Leadership?

I am the Alumni and Events Chair for MLTD.    My main role here is to engage alumni in events, volunteering activities and with the current class.  That was tough during the pandemic.  Hopefully, going forward, this will become much easier as the pandemic is fading away. 3. What attracted you to attend Mesa Leadership, Training, and Development?
My mentor was part of the very first MLTD in 1983.   She always encouraged me to do the program and it took me decades to finally get involved.   I kick myself for not doing it soon BUT I am so happy I was part of the class of 2019 where I met so many amazing humans.

  4. What class year did you graduate?
    I graduated in 2019

  5. What was your class project?

Our class project was rebuilding, remodeling and redoing the community center at the House of Refuge.

  6. What leadership principle(s) did you learn from attending Mesa Leadership and still use in your leadership style?

Listen, encourage and get involved.  Influence, in order to lead, comes from being a good example.

  7.  What would you say if someone asked you about Mesa Leadership?

Join.  Be involved.  Do as many activities and tours as you possibly can. It will enrich you in many ways.

  8. What is a good leader?

Someone isn't "above" you but who stands with you to accomplish a common goal.

  9. Anything else about Mesa Leadership that you would like to share with us?

Dive in; you will not regret it.  It's time and energy very well spent.
