Meet Your Mesa Leadership Board Member and Committee Members - Patti Oskvarek, Communication Chair
- Tell us about yourself and what you do for work. Hi, I am Patti Oskvarek, from Coaching for Inspiration with Patti: I'm a Leadership and Work-Life Balance coach, Reiki Master, Blogger, and Podcaster. I am married; I have two adult children, five grandchildren, and one cat. I like listening to audiobooks, sitting outside in my backyard, and enjoying nature.
- What is your position on the board, and what do you do in your board position for Mesa Leadership? Communication Chair, all things social media, blog, and newsletter.
- What attracted you to attend Mesa Leadership, Training, and Development? I wanted to learn more about the city of Mesa and learn more leadership skills.
- What class year did you graduate? 2016
- What was your class project? Downtown Mesa Boys & Girls Club.
- What leadership principle(s) did you learn from attending Mesa Leadership and still use in your leadership style? Teamwork, Better Communication Styles, and Solid Leadership.
- What would you say if someone asked you about Mesa Leadership? You will love the program and learn so much about leadership, yourself, and the non-profit organizations in Mesa.
- What is a good leader? Good leaders learn from their mistakes and use tools that enhance their awareness, such as journaling or sitting in self-reflection, and invite input to come up with solutions or new ideas. A good leader listens with compassion and understanding, assists whenever possible, and is willing to stand out and be part of solutions that help to achieve mutual goals.
