Diana Clevenger, Lieutenant with Mesa Police Department. I am married, we have 4 children, I love to cook, and we spend our free time camping. Last year we road tripped to Mt. Rushmore.

My position on the board is secretary, I have been fortunate to be involved with curriculum, recruiting, and serving as secretary.
3. What attracted you to attend Mesa Leadership, Training, and Development?
I got involved to learn more about Mesa and learn how I could give back to the community that has provided so much to our family. I ended up gaining lifelong friends and opportunities to be involved in the non-profit community.

2016
5. What was your class project?
Grant Woods Boys and Girls Club; library, and playground rejuvenation.
6. What leadership principle(s) did you learn from attending Mesa Leadership and still use in your leadership style?
The class environment and the work you do in the class teaches you about teamwork, cohesiveness, and the need to adapt your style to other’s strengths to be successful, not expect others to adapt to your style.
7. What would you say if someone asked you about Mesa Leadership?
It should be a bucket list item, it not only provides an amazing look into the inner workings of the City, its businesses, and non-profits, it provides a platform for relationships like nothing I have been involved with.
8. What is a good leader?
Honor, Courage, and Commitment. Honoring your role and those around you, having the courage to do what is right, even when it is not easy. Commitment to follow through and stay in the fight despite external factors.
9. Anything else about Mesa Leadership that you would like to share with us?
It has been a privilege to learn and grow with Mesa, Mesa Leadership is a cornerstone of the community and a great opportunity for personal growth and networking.
